Driving Efficiency and Innovation- Headway JSC’s Latest Achievements in Logistics

From boosting agricultural exports to innovating cold chain solutions, handling urgent return shipments, and managing complex project cargo, Headway continues to set benchmarks in Vietnam’s logistics sector

Headway JSC, a member of The Cooperative Logistics Network in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Haiphong, and Qui Nhon, is making waves in early 2025 with a series of major achievements that highlight its leadership in agricultural logistics, cold chain operations, return shipments, and project cargo management.

Supporting Vietnam’s Agricultural Exports in the Year of the Snake

Headway kicked off Spring 2025 by standing alongside its customers for the first shipments of the Year of the Snake, helping Vietnamese agricultural products gain prominence on the global trade map. In recent years, Vietnam’s agricultural exports have grown rapidly thanks to compliance with international food safety regulations and a steady increase in export turnover. Headway plays a vital role in this progress by providing tailored logistics solutions designed to enhance efficiency and reliability.

From customs consultation and domestic trucking to competitive international shipping rates, Headway’s comprehensive service ensures every stage of the process is closely monitored, right from empty container pickup to efficient packing and timely port delivery. Moreover, their coordination enables shipments to move faster than expected while meeting stringent quality standards.

“As we embark on these first shipments of the new year, we take pride in supporting our partners in strengthening Vietnam’s agricultural sector,” said Mr. Felix Nguyen, Managing Director of Headway JSC. “Most importantly, we stand by our customers to deliver high-value products to consumers worldwide.”

Building a Stronger Vietnam–Japan Cold Chain

In May 2025, Headway took a decisive step to strengthen its two-way cold chain logistics by conducting an on-site survey at Sankyo Corporation’s state-of-the-art cold storage facility in Tokyo. The visit allowed Headway’s team to observe world-class cold logistics in action and gain valuable insights into temperature control, zoning systems, and standardized handling procedures.

“This trip was more than a visit, it was a deep dive into operational excellence,” Nguyen remarked. “We aim to learn, adapt, and apply these standards to build stronger, more efficient logistics pathways for Vietnamese exporters.”

By collaborating closely with Sankyo, Headway is preparing to offer enhanced services covering refrigerated transport, cold container supply, customs clearance, and seamless integration with Tokyo’s cold storage network helping Vietnamese seafood maintain its quality and integrity as it reaches discerning markets like Japan.

Return of Frozen Pangasius Shipment from Brazil

Another highlight from Headway’s recent operations was its swift handling of a frozen pangasius shipment return from Santos Port, Brazil, to Cat Lai Port, Vietnam. After detecting a packaging defect, Headway’s team sprang into action, advising in-transit inspections that helped prevent losses from a second shipment with similar issues.

Thanks to its extensive network and expertise, Headway booked a return vessel within one week—cutting the standard turnaround time in half. Furthermore, the operation minimized container storage costs, preserved product quality, and kept the cold chain fully intact with constant temperature monitoring.

“We understand the high stakes in frozen seafood logistics,” said Felix Nguyen. “That’s why we act quickly and strategically to protect our clients from financial and reputational risk.”

Comprehensive freight solutions for fertilizer shipments to key markets in Asia and Africa

Additionally, they successfully executed a fertilizer shipment involving eight 20DC containers of potassium sulfate (sulfate of potash – SOP). The cargo departed from Ho Chi Minh Port and was bound for key international destinations across Asia and Africa.

In this project, Headway transported large volumes of SOP fertilizer packed in standard jumbo bags, each weighing about one ton and loaded them directly into 20-foot containers. Additionally, this method ensures optimal use of space, technical safety, and reduced loading and unloading costs at both origin and destination ports.

In order to serve diverse export markets, Headway leverages well-established sea routes connecting Ho Chi Minh with Durban in South Africa, Port Klang in Malaysia, Tomakomai in Japan, and Cebu in the Philippines. These routes offer flexibility and reliability, helping clients expand their reach in both established and emerging markets.

“Our clients know they can count on us,” added Mr Nguyen. “From route optimization to real-time updates and risk mitigation, we handle every detail so they can focus on growth.” Their global network of partners allows for competitive rates and stable shipping costs, even in volatile markets. As a result, it helps customers manage budgets and increase profit margins. Moreover, their dedicated team of logistics coordinators ensures each shipment stays on schedule, while their 24/7 monitoring system keeps risks to a minimum.

Overcoming Container Shortages for Mercedes-Benz Bus Exports

Headway also recently handled the smooth export of Mercedes-Benz luxury buses from Chu Lai Port to Thailand, a project that demanded timely coordination despite a shortage of suitable containers. To keep the project on schedule, Headway arranged for 40-foot flat rack containers to be transferred from Ho Chi Minh City to Chu Lai, ensuring proper lashing, packing, and loading for safe transport.

“This shipment was a challenge due to the container shortage, but our proactive coordination ensured that the client’s timeline was not compromised,” added Mr. Nguyen. “Additionally, it reflects Headway’s commitment to flexibility and problem-solving.”

Whether it’s facilitating Vietnam’s first shipments of the year, advancing cold chain standards, handling urgent return shipments, or managing high-value project cargo, Headway JSC continues to prove why it is a trusted partner for exporters across Vietnam. Moreover, with a strong start to 2025, the company is positioned to keep supporting Vietnamese enterprises as they expand their presence in global markets.

Congratulations to Headway JSC for these outstanding accomplishments and best wishes for their upcoming projects!
