New Coop member in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania

Flagship Forwarding LLC, a Coop member in Boston, USA, recently completed a shipment of a 38’ Bantry Bay row boat which will be used in the Atlantic Challenge International Contest of Seamanship held in Northern Ireland in July 2018. The shipment came with many challenges, the major one being that the boat was over 100 years old. Flagship Forwarding was required to hire a special rigging company in RI for handling the boat.
In the words of Andrea Kalligheri, President of Flagship Forwarding, “The boat was sent to Antrim under a carnet so that it could be exported or re-imported back into the US worry free. Our team was responsible for all aspects of the importation to Antrim such as clearance, delivery as well as sending it back to the USA. Processing this shipment was a rather stressful job which we executed with the utmost perfection.”
A big congratulation to Flagship Forwarding LLC for a job well done!

The first post of the blog called ‘The F-Word’ talks about the role of a freight forwarder in the logistics and shipping industry and the various kinds of challenges faced by people in this profession. The writing style of the blog is lucid and humorous and any person related to the industry can easily relate to the post. They will be publishing posts about many different topics over the next few months all of which will be related to the future of the industry.
In the words of Ian Mallon, Managing Director of Neon Freight, “I have created the blog to highlight the human ways in which shipments are arranged for the customers. The supply chain industry is not all about science; it relies on many different ways of getting things done. The blog will also confirm the fact to my clients that we are not another automated service where they ‘book online’ and never speak with anyone. It’s only through making personal relationships that we gain trust.”
In his recently published new blog post, F-Word 2, Ian talks about how lasting business relationships are forged by going for informal meetings in bars and other social locations rather than a formal discussion over Skype or email. Here he also talks about the importance of a dedicated team of workers without whose help the process of automation in the freight forwarding world isn’t complete.

Coop member in Porto and Lisbon finished a project which consisted of warehousing operation and the shipping of 208 FFE from a Portuguese supplier to Walmart USA
Warelog is currently servicing Dan Cake, one of the biggest producer of butter cookies in the globe, who chose them for the 2nd consecutive year to conduct all the logistics from the factory to the port. In order to get this prestigious contract, Warelog had to guarantee HACCP compliance and was required to be enlisted as the authorized logistics operator for Walmart. They came out of the final audit with an unbeatable score of 97%.
Presently Warelog is the only logistics operator in Portugal who has been licensed by Walmart for food products. Their requirements also included bar code reading and complete control and traceability of each and every box from the moment it left Dan Cake till the moment it was loaded on the container.
In the words of Luis Pinto, General Manager of Warelog, “This project had been really important for us and to ensure the smoothest operation we had a very specific stowing plan and stowing security managers were in place guaranteeing the integrity of the items. We are proud to say that for the 2nd consecutive year we successfully managed this project with zero complaints.”
A big congratulation to Warelog for their brilliant performance!
